Overview
The Characteristics of open infrastructure dashboard provides a snapshot of the general characteristics of selected open infrastructures (more about how we selected these infrastructures in the “Data and methodology section” below).
Built on data and analysis from Invest in Open Infrastructure’s Infra Finder and 2024 State of Open Infrastructure Report, this dashboard enables stakeholders in the open infrastructure space — funders, adopters, open infrastructure services, and others — to:
- Better understand open infrastructures’ characteristics, including their governance, business form and finances, policies, community engagement, and technical attributes.
- Dive deeper into the characteristics of different open infrastructure solution categories (e.g. repository services), or organizations of different business forms.
- Make more informed decisions regarding investment and adoption based on the available data.

The current data were gathered as part of IOI’s building of Infra Finder — find out more about how we collected and verified the data in Infra Finder’s documentation.
