Research & Projects

We study open infrastructure and its changing landscape, gather and analyze data, and craft reports to share those findings with decision makers, tool providers, and members of the research community.

We employ an evidence-based approach to guiding decision makers on where to invest, both at the university administrator and director level and in partnership with other funders to support their visions.

Our work is anchored in a human-centered design approach. We draw from the best of finance and the business sector, while also ensuring what we produce for the community is approachable, actionable, and reusable.

Resources

We translate research and analyses into usable resources for those funding, participating in, building and using open infrastructure in research. Core to our work is an aim to make discussions about investment strategies, funding, and sustainability more accessible and approachable to a broader audience — and aim to create resources and toolkits that make that possible.

This takes a number of forms — from investment strategies for budget holders to guides and resources for those looking to compare open infrastructure services or vendors. Our approach draws from the best of finance and the business sector, while also ensuring what we produce for the community is approachable, actionable, and reusable.
